These weights were taken on 5/19/17, so one day late, kits were 5 weeks and 1 day old. They are making good progress, however one doe seems to be slowing down in her growth/gains so she might make the stew pot. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures, however I got a shot of both kits & chicks out in the tractors grazing. The black buck is spoken for, otherwise the others are available.

As far as the chicks go, we lost Puff, so are left with four, two silkies and two olive eggers. The final four seem to be doing great, so I’m optimistic about that. They have been getting a lot of outside time as well. I am admittedly not very familiar with silkies so it’s a learning process, and has been very interesting seeing how slowly they grow compared to the olive eggers. The silkies have also taken to “nestling in” right under their much larger olive egger siblings, which is quite adorable, and surprisingly the OEs don’t seem to mind.
