I realized that in all of my business and the virus chaos, I never wrote about our club spring specialty show! We got lucky and were able to participate in one of the last shows for many people in the region.
The Dalton Triple Show has a history of being a very successful and well run show, and this year was no different. The NWGCRC did a fantastic job and put on a great show! We look forward to hosting our NSFRC Silver Fox Nationals in 2021 at the Dalton Triple Show!
The weekend was long, with 3 shows on Saturday and 2 shows on Sunday, the first weekend of March. I had actually been on a bachelorette trip the Thursday & Friday prior, so I loaded my rabbits up and took them along so I could head straight to the show on Saturday morning. After a 3 hour drive at 3am, I arrived in Dalton at the fairgrounds, got my rabbits unloaded & situated, and we got ready for the shows!
All in all it was a monumental weekend for the breed and our club. We had some MAJOR wins, including a Reserve in Show (Astro Man – Tale of Tails Rabbitry) and a Meat Lover’s Best in Show (Meatloaf – Little Critter’s Homestead). Both of these wins were huge for the breed, gaining us some serious recognition.
Additionally, I was particularly pleased with our Sunday club specialty show, as Zaria won ‘Best Fur,’ and RR Petunia (a doe I bred now owned by Little Critter’s Homestead) came out with top awards: BOB/BIS, Best Senior, Best of the Best. I was absolutely tickled. I registered Petunia’s sister that I own, Cardi B, and granded her that day. I also registered & granded Zaria. Both Cardi & Zaria will now retire from showing, except for maybe some of the bigger shows.
My personal results are posted below for shows A, B, & C on Saturday, and then the Meat Lover’s and club specialty show on Sunday. Five shows in a weekend is exhausting but I wouldn’t want to do it with any other people than our amazing GSFRB Club!!
