Well, the Georgia State Convention show in Perry on 2/16 went pretty well, especially since it was the first show we’ve had since December.
I took a total of 11 rabbits along, and all together between 5 breeders we had 25 blacks on the table plus 5 blues for a total of 30 silver fox! Quite an impressive turnout. I am looking forward to Dalton even more now.
I didn’t come away with any major title wins, Sammy didn’t perform as well as I had hoped. Maggie did beat out Linda’s doe Luna in one of the two shows, which I was impressed with. My juniors were all over the place, and with such large classes I don’t remember exact results right now. I do know, however, that my breedings did the best of the day.
Show A resulted in a doe I bred, Petunia (PS02) winning Best of Breed, and Linda’s Starry Knight was Best Opposite Sex (earning his Grand Champion title). Petunia is now owned by Joe & Lynette Stercks of Little Critters Homestead in Alabama. They won her in my rabbit raffle that I held last fall. Petunia is by Pirate and out of Sookie.
Show B also earned Petunia another BOB, with her litter mate Peyote as BOS. Peyote is now owned by my friend Beth at Silver Lox Rabbitry.
Peyote & Petunia’s other littermate, Peony, was second junior doe behind her sister in both shows. Their other littermate, Enzo (formerly Pasque), currently resides with a youth in FL, and he won multiple BOB titles at a show in Grovetown, GA in January.
I am very proud of these rabbits, and I hope I can continue to produce winning quality animals. Both Peyote & Petunia earned 2 legs at the Perry show, meaning they each only need to earn 1 more as an intermediate or senior class rabbit to earn their Grand Champion titles. I’ve added some photos below of the rabbits with their ribbons 🙂
